Now My Pet Monster was a big deal in our house. My younger brother got one for Christmas one year, LOVED him but then he got spooked and decided that the Monster was actually trying to get him - so cut his paws off...! True story. He ended up a fully functioning "normal" member of society so a happier ending for him at least!
